Mountain Climbing ,,Festival hall of the Alps''
You will be fascinated with the world of our mountains when climbing them. Among mountaineers, the Engadine is known as one of the most beautiful areas in the entire Alpine region.
One of the highlights is the Bernina-massiv. Piz Bernina (4049 m.a.s.l.) is the highest mountain in the east alps.
Golf at its best
Tee-time at three different courses in the Engadine while enjoying the incomparable alpine backdrop. Driving and putting in an exclusive ambience, on harmoniously laid out fairways and greens is a sheer delight for avid golfers.
Samedan Golf Course (18 holes), surrounded by ponds and 700-year-old larches, is one of the oldest golf courses in Europe. In contrast, the fairways at Zuoz (18 holes) were only just opened in 2002, and are characterized by their expansive and modern design. The 9-hole golf course at the Kulm Hotel in St. Moritz appeals by its shorter distances and modeled terrain. In Sils/Margna befindet sich zudem eine Golfübungsanlage. The Golf Academy in Sils is a great opportunity with private atmosphere.
Mountain Biking
For cyclists and mountain bikers, the Upper Engadine has 150km of attractive routes in unique landscape. There's a variety of flat stretches, easy climbs, and challenging bits. The Upper Engadine villages are interconnected by a wonderful cycling path off the main road. There's an almost unlimited number of mountain bike trails awaiting you at any level of difficulty!
Nordic Walking
Nordic walking is a particularly careful and mild way to exercise the whole body, almost every muscle gets a certain degree of training. In the spring of '97, in Finnland, nordic walking was presented for the first time as an effective form of sport and has since then enraptured roughly a million people. In central Europe it is slowly becoming the trend-sport number one. Nordic walking is a sport for beginners as well as for those rediscovering their sporting tendencies and, of course, athletes with higher ambitions.
Cycle touring
Fans of more leisurely cycling will find the 'cycling for pleasure' paths fun, easy and relaxed. Many cycle paths run alongside the area’s lakes, into side valleys or downhill towards the Lower Engadine. All these tours are highly suitable for families with children, as well as older cyclists.
