A New Design for Our Wellness Area

Detoxify, relax, de-stress. Best with a view of the mountains and the scent of Swiss stone pine in your nose. The Hotel Albris has completely renovated its wellness area in spring 2023.

Sauna, finarium and steam bath. Relaxation room with a view of the mountains: The wellness offer at the Hotel Albris has remained largely the same, but the atmosphere has been completely different since summer 2023: cozier, more natural, more soothing. The rooms are no longer dominated by smooth polished stone and white walls, but by fragrant Swiss stone pine from the Engadin.

"We completely rebuilt and redesigned the wellness area, replaced the two sauna cabins and the steam bath and rearranged everything," explains Stephanie Kochendörfer. "This enabled us to create space for a seating area in the entrance area, where guests can enjoy a refreshing tea and healthy snacks." The seating area, entrance area and relaxation room are made of local Swiss stone pine wood. The fragrant essential oils support well-being. The sauna and the finarium are also clad with Swiss stone pine both inside and out. As this grows slowly, the wood is fine-grained and therefore ideally suited to the extreme climatic conditions in a sauna.

In classical Finnish sauna it is hot and dry. The temperature is around 80 °C, while the humidity is only around 5 to 10 %. This purifies the skin and strengthens the immune system. And the obligatory cooling down after the sauna bath stimulates the circulation.

The Finarium Like a sauna, it consists of a wooden cabin, but the climatic conditions are less extreme. The temperature is kept relatively low at 50 °C, but the humidity is increased to around 55 %. This is good for the respiratory tract, herbal scents enhance the effect and the experience. The Finarium is also known as the bio sauna.

In the steam bath the temperature is 43 °C and the humidity is 100 %. The inhalation effect is therefore higher than in the Finarium. In this wet climate, a surface that is as pore-free as possible is required. The Hotel Albris has chosen pleasant-to-the-touch mosaic tiles in dark colors. Exquisite scents also round off the stay in the steam bath.

Whether sauna, finarium or steam bath, all three treatments support health and stimulate circulation. We wish you a pleasant relaxation.
